Welcome to Sheraa Transport and Ship Management.

For over four decades, my life has been dedicated to the maritime industry. From the bridge of a ship to the boardrooms of global shipping lines, and to the classrooms of maritime academies I founded, this journey has taught me that true excellence in shipping is built on three pillars — operational grit, commercial acumen, and academic rigor.

Sheraa Transport is the embodiment of this philosophy. It is not a new venture but the culmination of a lifetime of experience, channeling the same principles that guided me in founding successful companies like Phoenicia Maritime Transport Services, contributing to the establishment of the Aqaba Maritime Education and Training Center in partnership with Al-Balqa Applied University, and establishing Tehama Maritime Services Company in Dubai – UAE, among others.

    Dr. Capt. Issa Awad Hasan begins a four-decade maritime career on board commercial vessels.

  2. 022004

    JNLSO — Jordan National Lines for Ship Operation

    Spearheads the creation of a specialised ship operating and chartering company that rapidly achieves an annual turnover exceeding USD 40 million, earning formidable local and international reputation.

    Phoenicia Maritime founded

    Establishes and grows a premier ship management firm into an industry benchmark, managing a diverse fleet of 17 vessels and building a robust global network of marine suppliers and crewing agencies.

  4. 042006 – 2008

    Fleet expansion at Hiphong Shipyard

    Directs the ambitious construction and commissioning of two new Supermax Dolphin-type vessels — M/V City of Amman and M/V City of Aqaba — for Jordan National Lines at the Hiphong Shipyard, Vietnam.

  5. 052010s

    Aqaba Maritime Education & Training Center

    Instrumental in establishing the Aqaba Maritime Education and Training Centre in collaboration with Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU), advancing maritime training and education in Jordan.

  6. 062013

    Tehama Shipping Services, Dubai

    Launches and scales a successful container feeder service for giants like COSCO and APL. Strategic leadership guides the company's growth to operational independence, culminating in the acquisition of two container vessels to serve the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea regions.

  7. 072015 – 2020

    Bulk aggregates partnership

    Orchestrates a major partnership for the transportation of over 3 million tons annually of bulk aggregates from Oman and the UAE to Kuwait and Qatar — involving comprehensive feasibility studies and securing financing for a fleet of Handymax, Panamax, and Mini Cape vessels.

    Tylos Shipping Line, Bahrain

    Leads the feasibility study that results in the successful establishment of Tylos Shipping Line in Bahrain, which now owns and operates five vessels dedicated to general cargo and containers.
